Title: PFS Cosmology Survey: Status and Future Outlook
Speaker: Jingjing Shi(IPMU)
Abstract:
The Subaru Prime Focus Spectrograph (PFS) Cosmology Survey is an ongoing large-scale spectroscopic survey that began observations in March 2025. The survey will obtain an unprecedented sample of emission-line galaxies over the redshift range 0.6 < z < 2.4, providing a unique view of the large-scale structure of the Universe across the epoch when cosmic acceleration becomes dominant. Through measurements of baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) and redshift-space distortions (RSD), the survey will deliver independent constraints on the expansion history of the Universe, the nature of dark energy, tests of gravity on cosmological scales, and the sum of neutrino masses. In this talk, I will provide an overview of the survey’s scientific goals, summarize the current status of observations and data processing, and discuss the expected cosmological constraints and future prospects.
