Title: Super-Eddington Active Galactic Nuclei and Their Central Ionized Gas
Speaker:Pu Du
Abstract:
Super-Eddington active galactic nuclei (AGNs), characterized by their exceptionally high accretion rates, play a pivotal role in the growth and evolution of supermassive black holes (SMBHs), particularly during the early stages of the universe. Over the past decade, we have conducted extensive reverberation mapping studies of the ionized gas within the broad-line regions of super-Eddington AGNs. These investigations have revealed distinctive properties that set them apart from their sub-Eddington counterparts. In this presentation, I will discuss our key findings, exploring their implications for the accurate measurement of SMBH masses and the development of AGN structural models.
